Before use, preparation is essential. First, clean the glass. Make sure that there is no dust, oil, water stains or other impurities on the glass surface. Any tiny stains may affect the bonding effect between the film and the glass, so it is necessary to use a special glass cleaner and a dust-free cloth to wipe it carefully. At the same time, according to the size and shape of the glass, cut the film of appropriate specifications. When cutting, ensure that the size is accurate and the edges are neat to avoid burrs that affect the bonding effect.
Next, enter the bonding process. Spread the cut film flat on the clean glass surface, starting from one corner of the glass and slowly spreading it in other directions, trying to avoid bubbles. If bubbles appear, use a scraper to gently squeeze from the center of the bubble to the edge to expel the air. Ensure a close fit with the glass. In the production of building curtain wall glass, double-layer or multi-layer glass plus EVA intermediate film structures are often used. At this time, accurate bonding operations are particularly important.
After bonding, the glass needs to be hot-pressed. Put the assembled glass into an autoclave or laminator, and set appropriate temperature and pressure parameters according to the characteristics. Generally speaking, the temperature needs to be controlled between 120℃ - 140℃, the pressure is maintained at 10 - 15 atmospheres, and the hot pressing time depends on the thickness of the glass, usually 30 - 60 minutes. During the hot pressing process, it will gradually soften and firmly bond to the glass. After the hot pressing is over, wait for the glass to cool to room temperature before taking it out to avoid deformation of the glass or separation of the film layer due to sudden temperature changes.
In addition, pay attention to storage conditions. It should be stored in a dry, cool, and ventilated environment, avoiding direct sunlight and high temperature and humidity to prevent premature aging or performance degradation. Using EVA interlayer according to the correct usage and operating procedures can make the glass more impact-resistant and safe, and can play an important role in both building protection and automotive windshield applications.
